A Place to Grow
Childminder in Essex
‘I believe children thrive when they’re free to explore, play, and feel at home.’
Hello, my name is Kirsty and I am a registered childminder with a passion for providing a nurturing, nature-inspired, and homely environment for children to thrive.
With over 8 years of experience in childcare, I embrace the Forest School approach and pride myself in creating a warm, secure, and enriching space for little ones to explore, learn, and grow.
I am a fully trained Early Years and Portage Educator. I also hold paediatric first aid and safeguarding and I follow the EYFS. I work closely with parents to ensure that each child receives personalised care, supporting their individual development and happiness.
I would love to welcome you and your little one to my setting! Feel free to get in touch to learn more or arrange a visit.

OUR MISSION
At A Place to Grow, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and nature-connected space where children are free to explore, imagine, and flourish.
We believe in the magic of childhood — filled with curiosity, discovery, and joy.

A home to grow, a world to explore
I believe that children learn best through hands-on experience
I encourage outdoor play, exploration, and problem-solving in natural settings, helping children develop confidence, independence, and a love for the outdoors. Whether it’s den-building, nature crafts, or wildlife discovery, I aim to spark curiosity and adventure in every child.
At the same time, I incorporate a cozy, calm, and welcoming atmosphere. My setting is designed to feel like a “home away from home,” where children feel safe, loved, and comfortable. We enjoy storytelling, sensory play, soft lighting, and seasonal activities that encourage mindfulness, well-being, and a sense of belonging.
Children in my care also have the opportunity to interact with my friendly well-trained dogs and guinea pigs. Interacting with animals helps to foster empathy, confidence, and responsibility.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We treat every child as an individual — with their own rhythm, personality, and potential.
Through outdoor play, hands-on learning, and a “home away from home” atmosphere, we help little ones grow confident, kind, and curious about the world.
